The NSS Annual Camp 2025–26 was inaugurated at SDM Mangala Jyothi School, Vamanjoor, under the theme “Youth for My Bharath – Youth for Digital Literacy.” NSS Programme Officer Pushparaj K. delivered the welcome address, highlighting the importance of youth engagement in community initiatives. Dr. Bharath Shetty inaugurated the camp and shared insights on the role of digital literacy among youth. Mr. Naresh spoke about the objectives of the camp and the host institution, while Dr. Tharanath delivered the presidential address. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Shruthika.

A Workshop on Moot Court Etiquettes was organised at SDM Law College, Mangaluru, on 30th September 2025 by the Moot Court Society of the college. Ms. Meghna R. Anand, Assistant Professor at SDM Law College and Advocate, Mangalore, served as the resource person. Drawing from her experience as a mooter, she delivered an insightful session on moot court etiquette and professional ethics, offering tips on effectively convincing presiding officers and practical guidance on courtroom mannerisms. The session included an interactive component where participants learned essential courtroom behaviour for intra- and inter-college moot competitions. Dr. Ashwini P., Faculty Convenor of the Moot Court Society, presided over the programme. Srijan Prasad, Student Coordinator, compered the session.

A Training Programme for Candidates Appearing for the Civil Judge Preliminary Examination was held from 25th to 27th September 2025 at SDM Law College, Mangaluru, organised by Adhivaktha Parishad, Karnataka South, Dakshina Kannada District. Mr. Basavaraj, Principal District and Sessions Judge, inaugurated the programme and shared valuable tips for aspirants. Dr. Tharanatha, Principal, delivered the presidential address. Mr. H. Sathish, Mr. Guruprasad, Mr. Anil Kumar K., Mr. Jagadeesh K. R., Mr. Jagadeesha D. P., Mr. Kiran Rao, and Mr. Vikram Raj were also present on the occasion.

A Menstrual Health Awareness Programme was organised on 19th September 2025 at SDM Law College, Mangaluru, by the Women Empowerment Cell and POSH Cell of the college. Ms. Suma Rajgopala Achari, representative of Vaarahi Consultancy, Puttur, served as the resource person. She emphasized that awareness and open discussion on menstrual health promote equality and empowerment and stressed the importance of safe hygiene practices. Dr. Balika, Vice Principal and Faculty Convenor, Ms. Sharika Rai, and Dr. Reshma were present. Ms. Hishma Nafees Hisham welcomed the gathering, and Ms. Ishani S. Baiju delivered the vote of thanks.

An inaugural lecture on “Constitution and Debate Skills” was organized at SDM Law College, Mangaluru, on 29th September 2025. The event was jointly organized by the Constitution Club, Electoral Club, and SVEEP of the college. Ms. Ambika Bhat K. S., Assistant Professor at Chanakya University, Bengaluru, was the resource person. In her address, she highlighted the key features of the Constitution, fundamental rights, and recent developments in constitutional law, citing notable cases. She also spoke on debate skills and emphasized the importance of active participation in debates for law students.

Dr. Balika, Vice Principal of SDM Law College, presided over the programme and delivered the presidential address. Dr. Santhosha Kumara, Head of the Department of Law, was also present. Ms. Meghna R. Anand, Faculty Convenor, introduced the resource person. Ms. Khushi U. Bhandary, Secretary of the Constitution Club, welcomed the gathering and hosted the event, while Ms. Sharol Lobo proposed the vote of thanks.

The Moot Court Society of SDM Law College, Mangalore, organized a workshop on “Research on Moot Proposition” on September 23, 2025. The workshop focused on tips, techniques, and methods for conducting effective research for any given moot proposition.

Dr. Ashwini P., faculty in charge of the SDMLC Moot Court Society, delivered an insightful session covering essential topics such as research techniques, their importance, citation methods, and the researcher’s role within a moot team. She also highlighted professional conduct expectations and shared valuable online research sources. The workshop concluded with a productive question-and-answer session, equipping participants with practical knowledge and skills for success in moot court competitions.

Congratulations to Team SDMLC for bringing laurels to our institution by securing the Overall Runners-up Championship at SDM Management College’s flagship fest GENESIS 2K25.

On the occasion of NSS Day, SDM Law College, Mangalore, organized Elocution and Poster Making Competitions on September 23, 2025. The programme was conducted by the NSS Unit of the college. The Elocution Competition, based on the theme “Role of NSS in Life Management”, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students. Bhoomika Shetty of 1st Year LL.B. secured first place, while Vijeth of 4th Year B.A.LL.B. won the second prize.

The Poster Making Competition, on the theme “Not Me but You”, saw Prithvi and Preemal winning first prize and Ricky and Ashini securing the second prize. The event was graced by Dr. Dimple Mesta, Convenor of the NSS Unit, along with Shruthika and Sanjan, Secretaries of the NSS Unit, and other student coordinators.
