Shrivathsa L. Bhat, Abhay Abraham Simon, Koustubha P., Preetham, and Akshay of 3rd Year BBA LL.B secured the First Place in the Mad-Ad event at Expressions 2025, the National Level Inter-Collegiate Fest organized by the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore, on September 17, 2025. Their creativity and teamwork brought laurels to the institution.
The NSS unit of the college organized a one-day camp at Shri Subraya Temple, Neerumarga, on 18th September 2025. A total of 120 volunteers actively participated in the programme. The NSS officers of the college – Prof. Pushparaj, Dr. Dimple Mesta, and Mrs. Apoorva Shetty – were present, along with the members of the temple management committee.

Students of SDM Law College — Sammedh, Ramya, Anagha, Anagha Nayak, Anagha Shetty, Shikha, Sanskruthi, Dhanyashree, Abhishek, Preetham, Nirmith, Priyanka, Shruti, Abhinaya, and Pruthvi — secured the Overall Championship at “Nexus 2025”, a national-level intellectual and cultural extravaganza hosted recently by the Department of History, St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University).

An awareness program on the Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 (as amended in 2016), human trafficking, and the ill-effects of drug abuse was organized at on 10th September 2025 Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Law College, Mangalore. The event was jointly conducted by the District Legal Services Authority, District Administration, Labour Department, District Child Labour Project Society, Police Department, Childline, and SDM Law College. Inaugurating the program, Smt. Jaibunnisa, Senior Civil Judge, stressed the need to create awareness and extend collective support to eradicate child labour. She expressed confidence that knowledge would spread like light and transform lives. The chief guest, Smt. Nazia Sultan, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Mangalore Division, highlighted that the primary objective of the Child Labour Act is to ensure equal rights, a secure future, and a happy childhood for every child in the nation.
Special lectures were delivered by Mr. Revannasiddappa, Sub-Inspector, Sen Police Station, on the harmful effects of drugs; Smt. Wilma Elizabeth Tavaro, Labour Officer, South Sub-Division–2, on the provisions of the amended Child Labour Act; and Dr. Naveen Chandra, District Programme Officer, on tobacco control laws. The program was attended by Mr. Srinivas, Director, District Child Labour Project Society, and Dr. Tharanath, Principal, SDM Law College. The event was well-coordinated by Smt. Vinutha K, Assistant Professor.
The Corporate, Consumer, and CS Training Cell of the college organized an Orientation Programme on Company Secretary Training on 9th September 2025. The session was led by CS Sahil Sharma, Partner at Pareeksha Knowledge Hub LLP, who served as the resource person. The programme was presided over by the Principal, Dr. Tharanatha. Also present on the occasion were CS Harshila Purohit and Dr. Shaheema A. S., Faculty Convenor.
The Rangers & Rovers Cell at SDMLC observed the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies on 8th September 2025 with the “Cycle to College” initiative under the IQAC. Students and staff actively participated by cycling or using public transport to promote sustainable mobility.
The NSS Annual Activities for the academic year 2025–26 were inaugurated on 4th September 2025 by Shri Dhananjay Kumar, Advocate, High Court of Karnataka, and a proud alumnus of the college. Dr. Tharanatha, Principal, presided over the programme. On this occasion, MESCOM staff members John Monteiro, Chandan S., and Siddappa were felicitated in recognition of their dedicated service. The programme also included an overview of the planned activities for the year, with enthusiastic participation from the faculty, student leaders, and NSS volunteers.
