Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Law College, Centre for Post-Graduate Studies and Research in Law, Mangalore, in collaboration with the Global Academy of Law-Tech Education & Research (GALTER), Hyderabad, organized the 2nd International Colloquium on Tech Driven Socio-Legal Research Methods – Tools and Techniques on 25th and 26th October 2025. The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Dinesh Maheshwari, Chairperson, 23rd Law Commission of India; Former Judge, Supreme Court of India; and Former Chief Justice of the Karnataka and Meghalaya High Courts.
Prof. Dr. M. K. Bhandari, Founder Director of GALTER, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour, while Dr. Tharanatha, Principal of SDM Law College, presided over the inaugural programme. The two-day colloquium featured six technical sessions, paper presentations, and a panel discussion. On the first day, Dr. Josina Rodrigues, Blockchain Advisor and the first Ph.D. holder in Blockchain Studies from Portugal, delivered the opening session. The subsequent sessions were conducted by Dr. Nanda Kishor M. S., Head and Associate Professor, Department of Politics and International Studies, Pondicherry University, and Prof. Dr. Sairam Bhat, Professor of Law, National Law School of India University, Bangalore.
The second day included sessions by Dr. Rajendra Baikady, Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, Central University of Kerala; Prof. Dr. M. K. Bhandari, Founder, GALTER; and Dr. Bharti, Dean, Faculty of Law, Manipal University, Jaipur. Academicians, research scholars, students, and advocates presented papers on diverse aspects of the colloquium’s theme. A panel discussion on the central theme featured eminent academicians including Prof. Dr. Yugal Kishor, Prof. Firdous Wani, Prof. Shashikant Gupta, Dr. Balika, and Dr. Santhosh Prabhu, who shared their expert insights on the evolving role of technology in socio-legal research.
The Valedictory Session was graced by Prof. Dr. Sandeep Sancheti, Chairperson, CIPU National Committee on R&D and Industry-Academia Collaboration, and Vice President, Research Relations and Academic Affairs, Elsevier India, as the Guest of Honour. The event also witnessed the presence of Dr. Chandralekha V., IQAC Coordinator; Mrs. Vinutha K., Convenor, Seminar and Conference Committee; Mr. Amith S. M., HOD (Pre-Law) and Faculty Convenor, Research and Publication Unit; Ms. Kavya, LL.M. Coordinator; Dr. Suma S.
