Group discussion on “Non State Justice System”

On 20.03.2019 our college in association with Karnataka State Law University and KVG Law College Sullia organised group discussion on “Non State Justice System prevalent in various parts of Karnataka with special reference to Nyayadhana system Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala and Nyayadhana through Bhootharadhane in Dakshina Kannada District” 

Prof Dr. Ishwara Bhat, Hon.ble Vice Chancellor Karnataka State Law University inaugurated the proceedings. Dr. C.S Patil Dean Karnataka State Law University and Sri Dayananada Kattalsar, Tulu Folklorist were the chief guests. Orientation on minor research projects awarded to our College. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor KSLU Dr. C.S Patil guided minute aspects of research. Dr. Umanath Shenoy, Retired Professor SDM College, Ujire and Sri Dayanand Katalsar were the key speakers. Sri. Bharath Bhandary, Folklorist Puttur and  Sri Harish Ballal, Folklorist, Belthangady were the Guests of Honour. Dr. Tharanath, Principal SDM Law College and Prof. Udaya Krishna, Principal, KVG Law College, Sullia presided over the group discussion. Mrs. Chandralekha V and Mr. Pushparaj K. coordinated the programme.

Health Checkup Camp

From 18.03.2019 to 20.03.2019 Red Cross Unit conducted Health Check up camp for all the students and faculties of our college in association with MedEnnove8 – Better Health Better You, Private Limited Company. Height, Weight, BMI, Blood Pressure and Eye Sight Test was conducted. Programme was inaugurated by our college Vice-Principal Dr. Balika and Coordinator Mr. Rakshith B. V. 820 students have undergone health checkup. After check up doctors advised students having vision problems to report at Delta Eye Care for Eye Lenses for free of cost.

LEX ORBIS 2019 – INTERNATIONAL TRADE LAW MOOT COURT AND BOOK REVIEW WRITING COMPETITION

3 days international trade law moot court and book review writing competition – Lex Orbis 2019 was inaugurated by Sri. Kadloor Sathyanarayanacharya, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Dhakshina Kannada, Mangalore on 14th March 2019 at the college auditorium. Sri Manmohan P.N, Advocate, High Court of Karnataka, Bangalore was the Guest of Honour. Total 24 teams from various law colleges from India and outside India took part in the competition.

The competition concluded on 16th March 2019. Hon’ble Justice Dama Seshadri Naidu, Judge High Court of Mumbai delivered the valedictory address. Hon.ble J. B.M Shyam Prasad, Judge, High Court of Karnataka, Mr. K.M Nataraj, Additional Solicitor General, Supreme Court of India, Alumnus, SDM Law College, Prof. Dr. T. R Subramanya, Dean, Faculty of Law, CMR University, Bangalore were guest of honour. Dr. Tharanath, Principal presided over the programme. First Prize was bagged by School of Excellence, Chennai and Symbiosis Law College were runners up. Mrs. Annapoorna Shet was the convenor. Ms. Haritha Varma, Secretary – Moot Court Society, Mr. Saurav Shet, Principal Secretary, Student Executive Council, and Ms. Ashritha Shetty, Ms. Shreya Shetty, Ms. Aswathy Jayaraj, Mr. Ashwin Kutinha, were student coordinators.

Swacch Soch One Day Seminar

Eco Club of SDM Law College and Centre for Post Graduate Studies and Research in law in association with Ramakrishna Mission Mangalore Organised “One Day Seminar on Swacch Soch” on  19th February 2019. The Programmes was inaugurated by Mr. Ranjan Bellarpady, Volunteer, Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru. Dr. Tharanath, Principal, Mrs. Deepa Salian, Assistant Professor/Coordinator of Eco Club and Student secretary Tejas presided over the seminar. Mr. Ranjan Bellarpady, Mr. Gopinath, Mr. Suresh Shetty, were the resource person of the seminar. 250 Students participated.

Karnataka State Law University Inter Collegiate Throw Ball & Tennikoit Tournament (Women) 2018-19

On 8th March 2019 Karnataka State Law University Inter Collegiate Throw Ball & Tennikoit Tournament (Women) in association with our college held at Mangala Stadium Karavali Exhibition Ground, Mangaluru. Tournament inaugurated by Ms. Poornima, International Throw Ball Player (Karnataka Kreeda Ratna Awardee). Tournament presided over by Mr. Krishnegowda, President, KSLU Physical Director Association. Dr. Tharanath, Principal and all the Staffs and Students of our college were present. 12 teams of various law colleges affiliated under KSLU participated. Mr. Shashiprasad, Physical Director of our college coordinated the tournament.

 

INVESTOR AWARENESS PROGRAMME

A programme on investors awareness in association with The Mangalore Chapter of The Institute of  Cost Accountants of India was organised on 27 February 2019 at the college auditorium. Mr. Naveen Julian Rego, Certified Financial Planner, SEBI Registered Investment Adviser presided over as the resource person. Around 85 students participated in the programme
